Lucknow: The father of Dr. Shaheen, a woman physician from Lucknow, expressed disbelief over her arrest linked to a significant explosives seizure in Faridabad, located near Delhi. He stated on Tuesday that he had no prior knowledge of her potential involvement in such activities.
Dr. Shaheen, who was taken into custody on Monday, is originally from Daliganj, Lucknow. Her father, Syed Ahmad Ansari, shared that she has three siblings.
"My eldest son, Shoaib, resides with me. The second, Shaheen Syed, was arrested yesterday. She completed her medical education in Allahabad. My younger son, Parvez Ansari, whose residence was searched this morning, has been away from the city for quite some time," he explained.
Ansari mentioned that Shaheen worked in Faridabad and is married to a man from Maharashtra. "I cannot fathom that my daughter could be involved in such matters," he remarked.
He noted that both Shaheen and Parvez pursued careers in medicine, adding that he has not seen them in over a year and a half.
"I last spoke to Shaheen about a month ago, while I communicate with Parvez nearly every week. I was completely unaware of Shaheen's arrest. Our conversations typically revolve around his well-being," he stated.
Following her marriage, Parvez moved in with his wife in Saharanpur.
Reports indicate that Shaheen is affiliated with Al-Falah University and had close ties to Dr. Muzammil, a Kashmiri doctor arrested after authorities discovered 2,900 kg of explosives and flammable materials in his rented accommodations in Faridabad.
Officials revealed that, acting on Muzammil's information, the Faridabad Police recovered a Swift car linked to a female doctor employed at Al-Falah Hospital, which also contained a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
In the meantime, Haryana's DGP O.P. Singh announced on Tuesday that extensive raids were being conducted statewide, including at Al-Falah Medical College and Hospital, following the recovery of a large cache of explosives, weapons, and ammunition associated with a terror module in Faridabad.
He added that searches were ongoing across the Al-Falah University campus, with several individuals connected to the module being interrogated.
Police sources confirmed that more than 52 individuals, including faculty members, students, and the principal of the medical college, have been questioned regarding the case.
This incident follows a blast near Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station, where a Haryana-registered Hyundai i20 exploded near Gate No. 1, resulting in at least eight fatalities and numerous injuries.
Teams from the NIA and ATS also visited Dr. Shaheen's father's residence in Lucknow after her arrest in connection with the Faridabad terror module.
